Narrow loss for Mens 1s

After a long and rejuvenating (beer and meat) break the Mens 1st team were back into action away at Milton Keynes looking to start the second half of the season strongly and claim some much needed points. Despite player availability being lower than hoped, a gallant and stoic 12 undertook the mammoth task of the hour and a half drive to MK, including some last minute call ups and new additions to the 1st team squad.

Quickly glossing over some people being a little late, the game started positively, agile attacks, tenacious defense and majestic distribution.. from the opposition saw them take on an early lead after the umpires deemed P&R should take up a challenge of having one less player on the pitch for 2 minutes. After this power play P&R did play some very good hockey and at the half it was 2-1 MK and everything to play for.

Unfortunately the lack of subs showed in the second half, stretching the game out while making it somewhat more exciting to watch, but much harder to play. An early injury sustained making P&R's lives much harder. Threatening attacks time and time again yet only to be countered - it was going to be a case of who scored the most goals would win and today it was not to be.

The game ended 5-3 which perhaps flattered it somewhat, with perhaps only 4 of the total goals being worthy.
