Unbeaten in first 3!

The ladies 3's continued their unbeaten run on Saturday with a hard-fought win over Wycombe 4's in the driving rain! With skipper Katie Reid not available, Jax stepped in to captain the side and the team worked brilliantly to get all 3 points and stay top of the league.

P&R started brightly with Mya Coulter finding plenty of space on the right wing, but couldn't find an orange attacker to send the ball into to get the final touch. Mya scored the first goal herself after 20 minutes- a goalmouth scramble finally got touched home to get the scoring underway and the team probably should have had a few more goals in the bag before half time with some chances going begging.

Lauren Mentiply stepped in to centre half and looked assured, especially transferring the ball across the midfield and the full back pairing of Carol Scearce and Fran Flach never looked in too much danger in the first period.

After half time, Wycombe battled back into the game and got an equaliser 5 minutes into the half after P&R couldn't clear the ball out of danger. Fran nearly stopped the ball going over but it just trickled into the bottom corner to leave P&R with a battle to score again. New signing Roweena Patel had a solid game at right half before coming on for a guest spot at left wing and she scored the second goal after 20 minutes to give P&R the lead and the chance to take all 3 points.

Kirsty Lerchundi-Mboengho had an energetic time up front and hassled the Wycombe defenders into making mistakes and P&R will think themselves unlucky that the scoreline wasn't bigger! Heidi Kenny made her debut in goal and after a quiet first half was called into action to make some crucial saves as Wycombe tried to find a winning goal in the closing minutes. With the rain driving in, the oranges managed to hang on to their slim lead and secured the win and all 3 points.

Their next oppo is Witney Ladies 3's at home at 2.30pm.
