2 weeks ago it was a 1-0 defeat after a long drive to Banbury but this week it is a 3-1 victory and only a short drive home :-)
Both teams started really evenly and the score stayed at 0-0 for a long period of the first half with both teams having chances to score. P&R got the upper hand when Charlotte Temmink received the ball on the right after a lovely run down the centre by Ettie Laird - she shifted the ball right and Charlotte picked up and drilled hard into the bottom left hand corner.
Banbury battled back to get an equaliser after the ball got turned over but P&R looked the most dangerous of the two teams in the second half.
Phoebe Gannon set up the second coming in from the left and popping the ball off inside the D to Becs Clayton who finished coolly to get the score to 2-1.
The Oranges looked comfortably in control but couldn't find the killer goal to finish off the visitors until almost the final move of the match.
Good approach play again from Ettie set Becs Clayton on her way down the right and she committed the keeper but pulled the ball back to the P spot where Sophie Castle was waiting to finish calmly the give the girls a confidence boosting 3-1 win and keep the team firmly secure in 5th spot.
Tomorrow most the team are back in action again in the Women's Vase away at Sonning at 3pm. All spectators very welcome to come and support the team!
