Our vision is to be the first choice competitive, family orientated, and Clubmark accredited Club for people within the Reading Borough area.

The Club is based at the University of Reading Sportspark.

The Club has 3 mens, and 3 ladies adult teams and a thriving junior section catering from ages 5 to 14.

All our teams play league hockey in the South Central league.

Phoenix Reading Hockey Club promotes a ‘Safe Hockey For All’ ethos and operates using England Hockey's welfare guidelines.

The Club offers competitive league matches for men and women of differing skill levels, the Club enters summer tournaments for those wishing to socialise with other Clubs and have some fun with friends, and the Junior section has a mixture of both league and non-competitive and tournament based fixtures.

The Club creates a safe, positive environment for all to play hockey in a family orientated environment, and where non playing members are equally valued within the Club for their contribution to volunteering, coaching and parental support.

The Club is dedicated to ensuring that everyone has a good experience whether they are new players or long term members of the Club.

The Club will play all its matches at Reading University Sports Park and train there each week.

Affiliation and Accreditation
The Club is affiliated to England Hockey and has been ClubMark accredited by England Hockey since 2024. This is a nationally recognised award for providing a safe, effective and child friendly hockey environment. We were first accredited in 2010!

All our coaches, volunteers, captains and committee members are DBS checked when working with young people.
