Following the Christmas break, the Ladies 2’s returned to winning ways against a young Henley development squad. Despite having huge amounts of possession it took nearly 20 minutes to break down the opposition but 3 goals in quick succession made sure the game was killed off in the first half.
Naomi Ashcroft scored her usual back post goal after 18 minutes, quickly followed by Steph Newton converted a fine chance from a short corner, and Katie Murphy finished off after some good work down the right hand side from Heather Boulton and Liz McMenamin.
The second half saw P&R pile on the pressure but gallant defending from Henley and a lack of match sharpness in front of goal meant no further goals were scored.
Next week the team take on struggling Milton Keynes, and they will need to improve their goal scoring form to keep the pressure on Amersham and Chalfont at the top.
