On 5 October Phoenix and Ranelagh held their first schools hockey festival to spread the word to some local schools about what fun hockey can be. 5 local schools brought some of their year 5s and 6s to have a go. Some had played before and others never had. We provided gumshields to those who didn't have any (orange ones of course!), and thanks to Kingston Grammar School and England Hockey who very kindly provided hockey sticks for all.

It was a fantastic afternoon of sport for all with just the right balance of competitive activity and fun. The children were all amazing and engaged wonderfully with our sport. So a big thank you also to Bill Edgar, Maddie Brown, Rich Reeves who gave up their time to coach, umpire and generally encourage! Thanks also to the teachers and teaching assistants who brought their children to our club.
