Saturday 14th April saw P&R Hockey Club members all dressed up and in top form at the 20th anniversary Dinner Dance held at Reading Uni's Meadow Suite. 72 great looking people took part in a fantastic evening, organised by Lucy Plummer and Hannah White, to celebrate a great year of hockey at the Club. This was the biggest turn out for a good few years and the great atmosphere in the room was a testament to how social and welcoming the Club is with many new faces enjoying the event.

Earlier in the day, the Men's 1's had secured promotion into MBBO Regional Div 2 with a 3-3 draw and the mood in the room started on a high and stayed that way through the evening and into the wee small hours!

After a lovely 3 course dinner, our compare and Club Chairman, Caley Gardiner, did a cracking job on the mike to welcome everyone to the 20th year of Phoenix and Ranelagh and to recap the season followed closely by club captains Neil Haggis and Hannah Doherty who had the jobs of announcing the winners of the players awards. The final award of the night was the Woodie Award presented by Club President Dawn Collis.

The traditional raffle raised around £550 with great prizes from Jess Greener (PepsiCo hamper), Sue Yates (Bidfood hamper and chocs), P&R HC (2 x £75 Oracle vouchers), Flying & Jax (bottle of Bombay Sapphire), Colin McInnes (Swiss Air beach towels), Lucy Plummer (Prosecco), Toby Tinniswood (Whisky & Wine), not to mention a few others donated on the night.

After the formalities were over the evening moved on to dancing and celebrating success with everyone in top form and probably quite a few people buoyed by some bubbles and other beverages!!

Well done to everyone that won something, and to everyone else that didn't win but still took the time to celebrate everything that is great about our Club. You are all winners :-)
