Get Berkshire Active Awards celebrate our Junior coordinator and head coach!

The Get Berkshire Active Awards was held on Friday February 15th with Adrienne Hardy on the shortlist of nominees for the Volunteer of the Year award. The night recognised the efforts of clubs, volunteers, sportspeople and fitness fanatics from the Berkshire area at The Hilton Hotel with 12 awards up for grabs.

A group of 5 P&R reps, including Ady, attended the black tie event which showcased the many great things going on locally to get people, young and old, into a healthier and sportier way of living.

Paralympic swimmer and canoeist Jeanette Chippington MBE joined the event as the guest of honour and gave an inspiring highlights reel of her achievements, most recently Gold in Rio 2016.

After a great meal and a build up of tension in the room, the awards finally started to be announced and we are very proud to say that despite strong competition from all the highly commended nominees, Ady was crowned the winner of the Volunteer of the Year!

Her fellow nominees Alan Leason and Samuel Haslam are pictured as Ady picks up her award. P&R are very proud to have put forward her nomination to recognise the work that goes on tirelessly in the junior section, and very very proud to see her win.

Back to normal service this coming Saturday though as she plays Ladies 2's at home at 1pm, followed by Junior training from 9am on Sunday! No rest for the wicked
Well done Ady and Congratulations.
